"Zionism" by Max Nordau (Norwegian)
"Zionism" by Max Nordau
Zionism classics: Book 2
Norwegian translation: Jon Andersen
Max Nordau was one of the first major leaders of the political Zionist movement. He was a close friend and co-worker of Theodor Herzl, and it was Nordau who, among other things, convinced Herzl that Zionism had to be a democratic movement. It was largely thanks to Max Nordau as the first Zionist congresses in Basel and London were a success.
In this book we get a part of Nordau's own view of political Zionism and the situation of the Jews towards the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries. We also read two of Max Nordau's talks from the first Zionist congresses and an article that Nordau wrote about "Muscular Jews" and we will read a short biography about Max Nordau's life.
